Emerald on Calcite
Quípama, Western Emerald Belt, Boyacá, Colombia.
Light green color emerald crystals showing good transparency and excellent luster in all their faces. Arranged over a lutite matrix with the presence of translucent white calcite crystals. This specimen was mined in Quipama, a Colombian deposit uncommon internationally, even though its relevance and proximity to important mining areas such as Muzo.
