Emerald with Pyrite

Muzo, Western Emerald Belt, Boyacá, Colombia.

An amazing compound of several emerald prisms with great transparency and luster with a nicely saturated green color. The prisms end with pinacoidal faces in perfect condition and many of them cohabit with cubic pyrites very aesthetic and shiny. In the center grows a vertical calcite section that shows a pretty color contrast between the emerald’s green and the calcite’s intense white. Without a shadow of a doubt, a museum piece because of its size and characteristics.
